The foundation for internationalism (1905) came up with this city plan in The Hague, Netherlands.

The Permanent Court of Arbitration, established in 1899, required appropriate housing. This gave Eijkman the idea of founding a "world capital", following the example of Washington D.C., for example, with a Peace Palace and three academies: one for anthropology, one for art and one for pedagogy, hygiene and economics. In this way, science and art could directly contribute to world peace.

Eijkman met the architect and theosophist K.P.C. de Basel in January 1905. De Basel was so enthusiastic about the plan that he made a design for the new World Capital that spring. It consisted of a large, octagonal center north of The Hague, with eight wide avenues that meet in a large park with the Peace Palace in the middle of it. By placing this palace on a natural height, the Mussenberg, it would be visible in the wide area.

This house is called Maison Roosenboom, named after the architect Albert Roosenboom.

Victor Horta house (now a museum) is a few streets further, and is pretty amazing!
