-it was a function of disposable income, rubber is expensive. So all this tells you is that people under 25 with a lot of gear photos have been spending money that isn't theirs, have been using gear that isn't theirs, or were hired as a programmer very young

I remember when I was discovering kink communities for the first time and exploring FetLife, a website that has you list your age, I noticed that a lot of people posting gear photos were in their 30s (I was like 19 at the time). I was incredibly jealous at the time but in hindsight i realise that-

To repeat what i said in another reply, people i know and like make these arguments. I am more interested in showing the flaw of the logic than humiliating people by subtweet. You're not totally off base that disgust is the foundation of this mentality but we are not immune to propaganda

That's a very good observation and fits in the family of "most people would benefit significantly from understanding the physiological processes that cause their emotions so they can understand when they actually need a nap or snack instead of tripling down on a pointless argument"

Folks really need to discover the power and freedom in saying to themselves "Not my thing but you have fun" and move on, rather then engaging in the thing they actively don't like. Literally nothing is gained other then making other folks' days slightly more miserable

in my opinion even handwaving away the problem with magic is giving in to the framing that it is a problem, and not embracing the danger as part of the excitement in the fictional context
