Thinking about the Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror made me realize this guy is more of a hack that I thought. He has an anthology show that he's literally described as a cross between The Twilight Zone and The Simpsons, and he's not releasing it around Halloween? D'oh!

I noticed at some point that Hubie has the exact same character arc as Whitey from Eight Crazy Nights. So with that parallel in mind, another point in favor is that this movie does Halloween more justice than that movie did Hanukkah.

Hubie Halloween is one of the more decent modern Adam Sandler movies. I'm grading it on a curve because it's a holiday flick (a courtesy I do *not* extend to Jack & Jill), but if nothing else it does capture the aesthetic and mood lighting of Halloween.
