The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Pokémon Legends Z-A not only has better resolution and performance than the Switch 1 version, it also has:

1. Better textures.
2. Better shadows.
3. Better draw distance.
4. More vegetation.

Pokémon Legends Z-A resolution/performance:

Nintendo Switch 1: Docked is 1080p/30fps. Commo resolution is 800p.
Handheld is 720p/30fps. Resolution can drop to 540p.

Switch 2: Docked is 2160p/60fps. Common resolution is 1080p.
Handheld is 1080p/60fps.

1. Pokémon new engine.
2. They might be doing new Pokémon models.
3. Gen 10 onward will be on Switch 2, which raises cost.
4. GF already complained about dlc profits/overbudget.

Pokémon Legends Z-A debuts with an 81 Metacritic score.

Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives/dual exclusives so far:

DK Bananza: 91.
MK World: 86.
DXD: 60.
Welcome Tour: 54.

Next will be Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. I predict a score of 80.

Pokémon budgets leaked:

Pokémon Legends Z-A: approx. $13 million.

Pokémon Gen 10: 3 approx. $20 million.

Pokémon Gen 10 and beyond will have a new game engine.

Source code and build from Z-A was leaked.

Legends 3 will be set in Galar 1k years in the past.

Pokémon Wind/Wave (Gen 10) releasing in 2026 (photos). Will have underwater exploration.

Legends 3: Galar releasing in 2027+.

Codename Seed (MMO Pokémon) may be released in 2028 or beyond.

Gen 11 in 2030+.

Pokémon Legends Z-A will sell so tremendously well (Legends Arceus sold 14.83 million+).

The game costs $65 (average between Switch 1 and 2 copies), so hypothetically, Nintendo and Pokémon Company will earn approximately 1b dollars on a budget of 13 million dollars.

Pokémon Gen 10: 3 billion yen (approx. $20 million).

Nintendo's top franchises not even reaching 100m in terms of budget is surprising. I bet these numbers are similar for Zelda and Mario games.

All the Golden Joystick 2025 Game of the Year nominees.

Both Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives got a nomination. I believe Donkey Kong Bananza should also get nominated for GOTY on The Game Awards.

Ghost of Yōtei is at the top this week, followed by Final Fantasy Tactics remaster and Mario Galaxy 1+2.

Hardware - Monthly hardware spending increased by 32% when compared to a year ago, to $312M. Nintendo Switch 2 sales were able to offset double-digit percentage declines across each of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Switch.
