🤣 Wilbur says hello and has decided the whole sofa is his!

The track fades away gently (reflecting some deaths?), and The Invisible Thread with lyrics that might be interpreted as a positive way of letting someone you love know it's okay to die now. A reflective album, different to others, yet with the same insightfulness into this thing of being human.

Cheeky mid week gig with the fam. The Divine Comedy albums have mirrored stages of me and my peers lives given the proximity of age to Mr Neil Hannon. Latest album is about the death of his father. Sublime. Stand out tracks for me The Last Time I Saw The Old Man which is gloriously real 1/2

Close to my idea of a perfect day out!

From the conversations hear, I'd say not all buy into the same value system.

At Oxford's open day the other week as a parent. In the parents session someone raised their hand and genuinely asked "will my child be disadvantaged because they go to private school". Another parent mused that contextual info is unfair as it's not the kids fault they are in private education.

Highly recommend his podcast who broke the internet. Four excellent episodes (if not slightly depressing).

Missing people and not always seeing posts BUT when I do it's still lovely here. Hello again.

Mental note to remove them from my running top pocket and put them in my wardrobe! Top tip.

Parkrun update: home course, first run since the half last Sunday and yes it hurt! 49mph winds probably didn't help. I love the sense of quiet community (and smugness) on bad weather parkrun days.

Had to resist the urge to pick up all the conkers at the start.

You've probably already done this but reach out to your Jewish colleagues and friends today. You don't have to have the right words because there are none.

For a group of smart people, we are spectacularly and collectively dull-witted at recognising and rectifying this.

such a great list! In the same situation here. Games we've played forever work well (Rummikub and Boggle fail-safes here as they know them), added more recently was Labyrinth and a very very old game you can probably only pick up on second hand sites called Pushover boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/26...

Oooh. Exciting. Going back in a few weeks to see what it looks like now!

Definitely too soon to say!

You voluntarily did this again!?!

And also, well done.

Thank you. Your fresh legs comment last week was a real mental shift for me. Thank you!

Swindon Half! Thanks for all the encouragement. Unexpected benefit of marshalling #parkrun yesterday was that a fellow marshall said he was aiming for a 2.30 today. I saw him at the start made him my unofficial pacer and I did it! If I hadn't marshalled wouldn't have had aspirational pacing. #RunSky
Me and my son standing on the grass after the race. With medals. He's a massive piece of cake he's about to eat! And has one arm round me.

Prefect response - made me smile!
