If your "realism for dark gritty commentary on the real world" only applies to characters you don't like, who happen to be sexual minorities like lesbians, then it's not commentary of any kind, it's just being an asshole and camouflaging your assholery as commentary for those who are also assholes

i don't think i can put into words just how much i detest the word "goon" and how it has broadly replaced "masturbate" and all its innuendos, and been extended from that to simply *finding someone physically attractive*. like yes, let's keep assimilating, and thus validating, puritan language
