Regular people are losing out because billionaires "know better." Well it turns out they don't. If I have to hear one more thing about Nobel prizes or Mt. Rushmore faces I'm going to scream.
Living in the US is not ideal right now but not everyone has the opportunity to leave, let alone have a voice. Good business is not intentionally tanking the global economy based on "feelings" or "vibes."
Thankfully I'm still getting Halloween by @hannakarlzon as it has already shipped. I was hoping there would be a solution for the other two, but it's 2025 and no one knows how to do anything anymore.
This is what I've been dreading since January or so, after the administration change here in the US. The two new Maria Trolle books that I pre-ordered on imusic are on hold indefinitely because most European shipping services will no longer ship to the US due to customs.
I wanted to color something fun, and the rainbow slide from Droomreis by @maria_trolle fit the bill. Life hasn't been very easy lately for a multitude of reasons, and I hope this brings just a little bit of joy to anyone that needs it. 🌈
Because it's July I went with a mildly patriotic color palette, but with everything going on in the US right now, it's really hard to find joy in being American. Living through what will be future history today feels disconnected from what is important.
It's official: I've been coloring for 10 years! I got my start when my MIL gifted me a couple of Creative Haven books, and I finished my first page at the end of June 2015. July is my birthday month, and the girl blowing dandelions from @hannakarlzon's Sommarnatt seemed perfect for summer.
"I don't even know what a Mock Turtle is." 🐢🥫 I finally got around to coloring this page from Escape to Wonderland by @goodwivesandwarriors, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. It definitely met the condition I set for no flowers, since most of what I've colored lately is very floral.
Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers; I carried them in my wedding bouquet and have some tattooed on my shoulder. Since I've colored a lot of flowers lately, I'm going to find something that isn't floral to work on next. 🤔
After my last page took so long, I wanted to work on something smaller that I could finish in less time. So I picked the small hydrangea and medinilla from Flowerscape in Paradise by Maggie Enterrios.
At least coloring is keeping me sane during this crazy time; I don't know what I would do besides doomscroll in despair and that's no fun at all. So I may not say much, but I'll keep the art coming. I appreciate everyone who likes and follows my work! 🥰
Easter egg vase with flowers from Symphony of Cute Animals by @kanokoegusa. Originally I was coloring this page for Easter, but it's since come and gone lol. It was still fun to color something both bright and pastel. 🐣🥚💐
The blue snake is finished! This book, Color Odyssey by @chrisgarver is one that makes me feel like a better colorist with each page I finish. Even though I've been coloring for nearly 10 years, this is my first snake. Now that spring is on its way I'm looking forward to coloring some flowers!
Book is Color Odyssey by Chris Garver, flower colored with Holbein Artists' pencils.

I'm working on this page from Color Odyssey by @chrisgarver, and really like how the colored flower stands out against the line drawing of the snake. I've never colored a snake before this, so I'm overdue lol. Next time I'll be posting the finished product!
I haven't seen many dedicated art pages here, so I'm going to cross post from my IG art account @kiyabee_coloring and see where it goes. The world is a weird place right now and this is my way of showing that there is still beauty to be seen. Bunny in flower from Carovné Lahodnosti by Klara Markova.
Giving this platform a try with my nomadic, semi-updated journal of things that catch my interest. Here's a rare picture of my three cats sharing the couch.
