I've never seen any studies using raw, loose wool for erosion control. Some have used it to line the bottoms of swales for moisture retention, weave it with jute into blankets or wattles for slopes and drains, and it can be buried and used to hold water when live staking or seeding ground cover.

In addition to the culinary and medicinal uses (which are many) the horseradish plant attracts beneficial insects, deters pests, improves the soil, provides habitat and biomass, and it's easy to grow so added to the landscape adds biodiversity to the ecosystem 😎
