Watching the beginning of @wclivestream.bsky.social 100 hour livestream in support of weather and climate research while prepping an undergrad lecture on the pitfalls of deep-sea mining this morning. Multitasking forms of environmental crisis!

To me it’s both a reminder that all is not lost even with recent losses, and a warning that incremental change requires forward progress.

Really enjoyed everything about this: power of the courts and collective action with parallels to today, similarities and contrasts to the civil rights movements of the 60s, and ability of academics to make meaningful impacts on policy

A great start at #ISA2025, Chicago presenting on #HumanRights, #ClimateLitigation, the #UNFCCC Negotiations. What a rich discussion chaired by Christina Hoicka, discussions by Farrah Brown, and co-panelists @kmo95.bsky.social, Keith Goldstein, and Yasushi Katsuma.

A great discussion this morning at #ISA2025. Thank you @isaess.bsky.social/IO for giving us a full panel of UNFCCC papers- it was a great way to highlight this aspect of global climate politics! Including @susanannsamuel.bsky.social

As expected, the Trump team is already deleting climate info from government websites. In anticipation, our team at Urban Ocean Lab created a permanent archive of 100+ key resources and published a permanent archive: www.urbanoceanlab.org/resource-hub 👩🏽‍💻

People are flocking to Florida. Will there be enough water for them?

Climate change, a development boom, and overexploitation of groundwater are draining the Sunshine State.

There’s been a lot of “Biden needs to push through policies before Trump” from Dems in the last couple of weeks. A more sustainable Colorado River plan would be a big win for climate resilience in the West!
Federal water officials release outline for dealing with Colorado River shortages
The Biden administration won't be around to finish new guidelines for splitting up a depleted Colorado River, but is handing off a range of ideas.
