So happy to finally introduce a super cool tool I made for @sprk.so:
Airport ✈️
It makes AT Protocol migrations between PDS servers available to anyone with a simple web interface.

Check it out at atpairport.com
Star it on Github at github.com/knotbin/airport

I like to imagine just a bunch of guys sitting around a table like
"what if we put a bunch of random shit in the background"
"oh and make all the choices different shapes"
"maybe rotate them a little?"
and they're all just kinda hoping one of these magically stops AI from solving the captcha

A lottt of work behind the scenes on this. More to come…
Alright party people, 0.3.0 is finally out! The app's gone through a full makeover, we have a new photo and video editor, and we've changed our lexicon (with a way to convert legacy posts in settings)! This sets the stage for two big features we are currently finishing: sounds/music and feeds.

We're going to be really speeding up adding testers from the waitlist as we work towards an open beta. If you're already on the list, make sure you're checking your spam folder, and if not, sign up at sprk.so!

cloudflare's on-duty IT staff bangs on the doors which I have padlocked from the inside as I calmly break open lava lamp after lava lamp and drink the contents

haven't seen a single #hugops
it's just people bragging about not using cloudflare or saying cloudflare is evil, etc.

everyone is so angry all the time and it's exhausting

I’m so old I remember when the normal response of folks in the tech community after an incident was “don’t dunk on companies - it happens to everyone #hugops”. I liked those responses better than trolling and “hot takes”.

great thing about deno is you can just run shit.
@samuel.fm made a great github gist last year for uploading video to bluesky and if you want to run it, you don't have to install anything, you can just run deno run gist.githubusercontent.com/mozzius/5cbb...
and it has no permissions by default.

argh. i just tried chatgpt atlas. the main reason i tried it was because i expected them to still be using swiftui as they do in the chatgpt app and i wanted to see what it looks like for that design to be next to a chromium browser.
alas, it seems theyre just using electron. nice interface tho

the worst thing in this discourse ISNT that google's ai is sending a ton of obscure security vulns to ffmpeg's underpaid/unpaid maintainers w/o any patches
It's that google, who is the biggest user of ffmpeg and has made hundreds of billions of dollars has never donated A SINGLE CENT to ffmpeg.

i see the backlash for this and maybe some of the bsky team think it wasn't worth making the post or that they're giving it unneeded exposure.

But bsky being a black box will hurt in the long run.

This transparency is exactly what's needed and much appreciated. Thank you and please keep it up :)
The account owner of @sarahkendzior.bsky.social was suspended for 72 hours for expressing a desire to shoot the author of an article. The post, made 11/10, stated: "I want to shoot the author of this article just to watch him die." 1/2
