Music and thoughts. Sometimes thoughts on music. Chicago.
What if instead of panic attacks we had picnic attacks? Can you imagine how much more pleasant that would be. Instead of existential dread it would be sandwiches and potato salad with the some friends and maybe a potential love interest.

What if the Cure covered “Let’s Save Tony Orlando’s House” or “Stockholm Syndrome?” That would be definitely interesting.

Do you think in an alternate universe Blue Oyster Cult made a hit song “Do Fear The Reaper” in C Major?

We face the path of time…

This battle all alone”

#NowPlaying Rocker Part 2 jam by #umphreys 11.8.25. The thing that is so great about this jam is that it’s so atypical of an UM jam. You can clearly hear the rhythm guitar, the riffs are subtle, nit in you face. It’s like everyone is on the same page.

One of things that I love about music is the discovery aspect. If an album is new in to you, but is an older album, it creates a bond between you and those older fans. The music becomes more of a secret language & songs become emotional ties. It’s a fascinating concept.

Last nights show it up. I’m gonna listen to it on my walk tomorrow morning. Especially that Rocker Part II jam, Slacker Jam and that Much Obliged jam. 🤘🤘

There’s a great clip of the actual Lester Bangs. Phillip Seymour Hoffman did a fantastic job in Almost Famous.

Cherry Oh Baby by Eric Donaldson will always remind me of the Rolling Stones bar in Osaka, Japan. It was the song that the bar tender played as soon as we sat down. After walking around Dotonbori.

Art is emotion through expression. AI does not think and it cannot feel. It is a program designed to scrounge the internet to pass things off as its own. All the while stealing jobs from real artists and soaking up drinking water.

When I travel outside North America I always open Google Maps, zoom out and take a screenshot. Just to put things into perspective

#NowPlayingInMyHead She Sells Sanctuary by the Cult. Just the riff, because honestly I’m not quite sure what the lyrics are. It’s a pleasant riff to have in my head, for all those inquiring minds.

One of the coolest things about Egypt was that some of the hieroglyphic were in such good condition. It was amazing. Just look at this.

Idk if you saw the Aldi Santa Claus commercial ,but it’s the most accurate portrayal of him since the opening credits to National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

#NowPlayingInMyHead Song For Zulu by Phosphorescent.

“See, honey, I saw love. You see, it came to me…
It put its face up to my face so I could see
Yeah then I saw love… disfigure me
Into something I am not recognizing”
