At my family reunion picnic near Honolulu, my cousin's sons, great musicians, treated all 60 of us to traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music. But what blew me away was an awesome rendition of this song accompanied by ukulele.

I'm a data wonk so capturing such things makes me smile. The KROQ Top 106.7 lists are really useful to me to help remember some of those great songs I loved to hear (although not on KROQ but DC's WHFS).

There was a band that had a single that played on #whfs99.1 a million years ago and I liked it enough to buy the cassette but after my tape players died I trashed a bunch of those old cassettes (yeah, stupid, I know).

I know I heard them on my local alternative station in the DC area, #whfs99.1, back in the day but they didn't rise to that level of awareness that made them stick in my brain. So many years later I've rediscovered them from listening to #1swave on #siriusxm :)

I can heartily recommend an Alaskan cruise if you ever feel the need to adventure that far away, however the port in Seattle, Washington can be a big mess when departing so try not to be in a hurry to catch a flight.

Have you ever realized that your next door neighbor was an amazing musical talent? Not literally, but I live just a few states away from Pennsylvania, home of The Ocean Blue, who have been making great alternative music since 1986.
