I believe the author fundamentally misunderstands the problem, that is less with immigration in itself and more with the far-right movements, how they can rely on unparalleled propaganda and how all of this masks actual problems that aren't being addressed by mainstream politicians

Making immigration stricter doesn't solve the issue that the whole thing is mostly propaganda that people have endorsed to solve very real socioeconomic ills that have nothing to do with immigration.

I mean, look at how the far-right in Japan gets victories despite having little actual migration

I think we need to face the fact that:
- the dangers of migrants are largely mediatic fiction
- immigrants are the central scapegoats of the far-right
- a far-right that has a monopoly on the media
- and this is all used to push a Gramscian project to re-establish reactionary thinking

Literally everyone recognizes that she would've been largely a continuation of Biden's foreign policy. Continuation doesn't mean necessarily being equal on everything, but to start suggesting that Harris would've been significantly different is an insult honestly

I feel like I'm going crazy right now: I've never heard anyone treating Harris as a reverse from Biden. She was a member of the administration, it doesn't get more "continuation" than choosing as the candidate a member of your own administration.
