You know, I just remembered looking into devices that block calls on land lines right before my mother died, she was getting calls asking for all her personal info, threatening her SS pymts, etc… and she’d call me freaking out.
Check out Amazon.
Here’s a sample.

That’s infuriating! I can only imagine the world of trouble my mother have gotten herself into as she was still here.

I remember when I was laughed at for decorating for Xmas after the
Thanksgiving holiday.
It’s all a drag to me now.

The ending of this film is always heartbreaking, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.

Well, here’s some good news.

All European Union countries must recognize same-sex marriage.
BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

From 1964 - 1973 I can honestly say that I saw every movie ever made b/c my divorced father had us on the weekends & didn’t know what to do w/us. So, off to the movies!
He’d fall asleep b/c he owned a small jazz nightclub in the city& probably never slept before he picked us up on Saturday.

It was enough to make our prospective “stepmother’s” parents fall dead asleep at the dinner table while we 7 kids were laughing our heads off. Dad thought it was funny, step-monster was livid.

Oh,like the year we 3 kids had Thanksgiving at my Dad’s new girlfriend’s, soon to be wife, house. She had 4 kids. Her 2 oldest boys were my age (14) & 2 years older. It was 1969, they were getting high in the backyard & they put pot in the stuffing when no one was looking.

This! If, in the future, I’m asked to specify a religion, I’m answering “Devout Chicagoan.”
No, THIS is her most famous work. Devout Chicagoans like myself keep a copy in their homes.
I have acquired this golden idol & placed it on my Chicago altar. My household need no longer dread the return of this fearsome deity

You’re trying to drive me crazy with these lost films of John Gilbert.

This looks fantastic! But,of course, a lost film. And with John Gilbert, too, damn!

Watching the new Frankenstein.
Full of special effects, beautifully staged sets, great costuming … but kind of boring.
The cinematography is annoying. Zooming in people talking, then zooming out for exposition, then zooming back in again, then back out.
Lots of talking in dimly lit rooms.
Meh…

In celebration of tomorrow's opening night of the third season of our right-in-your-damn-house adaptation of A Christmas Carol, I say ye:

Charles Dickens

Who call him spurious and shoddy
Shall do it o'er my lifeless body.
I heartily invite such birds
To come outside and say those words!

I'm going to kick this off with a photo of my favorite city to visit, Chicago. I love downtown Chicago and along the waterfront, the art, the atmosphere, the food, the people. This shot was taken from Navy Pier on a cloudy rainy night. #photography #chicago

Jeremy Brett plays a total shit in this episode of a 1970s UK series called Country Matters. He shows a lot skin in a few scenes & I never grow tired of staring at his beautiful face, mustache notwithstanding.

Among the co-stars is Renee Asherson,Robert Donat’s 2nd wife.
