I've protested against the GOP my whole life too. Not having to live in the same country with them (at least for part of the year) will be such a blessing.

Both of my grandparents were born in Italy. I qualify. I am waiting on certified copies of various certificates which I will mail to a law firm in Italy. Plus, I'll be retiring in 3 - 4 years with 'independent resources'. A friend & I will split the cost of a home & put money into Italy.

NZ sounds wonderful. I have a friend with a friend whose American husband recently passed. She is moving back to NZ with the help of family there. A nephew has come out to help with the move.

I'm in the process of obtaining my inherited Italian citizenship. I do know of a retired professor who sold everything & moved to France too. She couldn't wait to get out of the U.S. She'd lived in Tucson for years.

I don't doubt it. Frankly, the U.S. doesn't have the population to fend them off especially with half or more of the population against maga. I used to work for a global mining company who was kicked out of China. That was the only time I've seen people scared.
