We have nearly doubled the known Protosticta species of the Western Ghats within 10 years. I will soon be hitting a personal 40 new species!

Butterflies and their caterpillars are not only pretty to look at for us, they are also tasty for their predators! Here is a cuckoo feeding on a butterfly caterpillar in India. It is important to record these ecological interactions. Anyone up for correctly identifying both the species?

This is the most beautiful rainbow that I have ever seen. Superb golden morning light after a shower, with verdant hills in the background. It almost appeared like a gateway to heaven, with a colourful double arch above.

I wrapped up field work in Siang & Dibang Valleys, Arunachal Pradesh, India, two days ago. At my last rest stop, a stunning visitor landed on the dining table, as if saying, 'don't leave!'. It was Banded Redeye (Gangara lebadea;
