Hey @npr.org and @nytimes.com why aren’t you focusing any energy on the missing and thousands displaced on the western coast of Alaska from Halong? There are journalists & correspondents covering this story locally, give them a chance to show & tell the world what climate change is doing to Alaska
Because no son of mine is going to grow up believing self care is only for women, or that your crusty gender norms apply to him (or anyone else for that matter)
All these pro-October posts remind me of when @briancgrubb.bsky.social declared October to be a lesser month and it was the only time I considered unfollowing him
Which, I actually think is the better way to do it. If you want to get an anti-fascist message across, hitting kids over the head with it may not be as effective as you might hope.
If I’m honest it was Robin Hood, Little Women (1994), and Newsies that radicalized me. TSOM was too long to get to the actual point about anti-fascism. I just thought it was about whiskers on kittens & girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Received a “compliment” at work recently that mostly amounted to: “You really surprised me! Normally you’re an insufferable bitch, but you were really professional just now.”
Come to think of it…I’m not sure which part was the compliment.
