Join us for outreach! We always go over our guidelines, and if you’re new, we’ll make sure you’re in a group with experienced volunteers - all you need to do is show up! We meet in the Immanuel Presbyterian parking lot at 12pm (you can park in the lot!)
See you there!
Group of around 20 people bunched in front of a tree. There is a building and more trees behind the group of people. The picture is bordered with a thick light pink and a thin white line with the text “Join us for outreach!” on the middle top of the photo and “Saturday, 10/11 - 12:00 PM Meet at Immanuel Presbyterian Church 3300 Wilshire Blvd, LA CA 90010 (Parking lot on Berendo St.)” on the middle bottom of the photo. There is an icon of overlapping purple and red heart with “KTOWN FOR ALL” in white letters centered on the overlapping hearts on the right bottom corner of the photo.

Others, like CD 4, have reduced street homelessness without creating 41.18 zones. Here in CD10, police tell people to move to CD 1 or CD 13. Heather Hutt is the absolute wrong choice for this committee.
ktownforall.org
The councilmember herself never meets with community groups like ours. There is no staff picking up calls at her city hall office and voicemails go unanswered. She is unaccountable and unresponsive to her constituents. She is not a leader.
ktownforall.org
Our members in public supportive housing are losing their spots due to a lack of supportive services. Affordable housing is disappearing as market and luxury units built by Hutt donors continue to pop up all over Ktown.
ktownforall.org
On the rare occasion that sweeps are canceled due to weather, the office doesn't notify people, leaving them in fear of a sweep that is not coming.

In both Housing and Homelessness, Hutt fails to protect the most vulnerable. Our members have faced displacement, property loss, and violent attacks.
ktownforall.org
She chooses criminalization every time. Unlike other CMs, she won't try alternatives to policing like unarmed mental health responders or consistent street medicine teams. She won't back common-sense sweep protections, leaving folks to brave sweeps during extreme heat or weather emergencies
ktownforall.org
Her tenure as our councilmember has meant banishing poor people from public spaces with 41.18 motions, unchecked police harassment from Officer Harris Cho and other LAPD, and increased violence towards our neighbors.

We are deeply disappointed to hear that Heather Hutt has been added to the Homelessness & Housing committee. Most of our outreach is in Council District 10, which is why we know how bad of a choice this is.

One of our volunteers shared this piece with us, noting that he had run into a group of about ten people with this same story last summer, all from the south. Although they moved along after a short time, it hammers home how unhoused folks are so vulnerable.

Drug Rehabs Lure In Patients for Insurance Money—Then Leave Them on the Street
Operators promise high-end treatment, help addicts sign up for insurance then pile on charges for little in return, say former patients and insurers.

So do we! There’s so much wisdom in our collective communities, thank you for helping to spread it!

Thanks for promoting this! We are constantly inspired by the love, passion, and ferocity that Ndindi and all our comrades at PUMA bring each and every day.

"If you think city services are bad now — and I think all of us would agree that they suck — and you thought maybe one day we would have funding to restore service, I have bad news. It's going to get worse."

Right now this city needs you, and your freezer, and your friends! Share this post! Freeze water tonight!

Cold water saves lives. You can too. 💜❤️

Every heat wave means a spike in heat-related deaths and injuries for our unsheltered community. We’ve had to call 911 after finding people unconscious in the heat, and treated burns from touching hot concrete and bus benches. When you have nowhere else to go, heat will kill.

Hey LA: it’s HOT. Stick some water bottles in your freezer tonight, and hand them out to your neighbors on the street tomorrow. If we sound serious, it’s because LA’s cooling centers are a joke ⛄️

Press needs to stop repeating govt euphemism of “clearing homeless camps.” I’ve witnessed it in other cities: massive destruction of personal property. Not just bedrolls & tents; family photos, Bibles, meds. Times I’ve seen it people weren’t even given option to move their things.
