I've been working on a website to solve a problem I have experienced with the stark segregation of furry lore, stories, characters, and art. In my mind, those 4 things are deeply connected and the fact that there is no one place to share such content baffles me!

I added screen space reflections to the Kraken shader :0

It's using a custom implementation inspired by my previous velocity based cone step mapping technique. Looks super clean and with only 5 samples!

It will! Right now I'm nailing down the surface view, then I'll make the underwater fog, caustics, total internal reflection, and volumetric light rays. Not sure about distortion yet but that might also make it.

The scattering is highly dependent on knowing where the light is coming from since it needs to calculate how much water is being passed through before hitting a surface and travelling more to hit the camera. I could assume a vertical light, though, and then the answer would be yes*

I finally got my Kraken shader into #VRChat!

It's still in early development and not looking quite as yummy as it was, but the performance is great and seeing it in VR is really encouraging!

Compression will destroy this video :(
