Some may roll their eyes because they don't walk the world in a darker skin tone to understand what I am saying. I grew up reading so many fanfiction / books and nothing killed my confidence more as a teen than reading..

If everyone you create has fair skin. Why is the villain the only one with dark complexion? Wouldn't they all be fair skin? Or do you want to make the big distinction between good and bad with looks rather than your writing. I am sure you understand how harmful it is.

That unfortunately is done and was done for a reason. Nowadays, I am seeing this change in media as evil can be in any color. However, I still see a good bit of it here. Take a step back and look at your cast of OCs.

A reminder to everyone to check your engraved prejudices. If you're showing us a story and all your OCs (the good guys) are fair skin. And all of your villains are dark skin tones. Ask yourself why that is? Yes, dark complexions being bad or evil is in many games , stories,entertainment
