The fact that I just changed my goal from 75 to 100 books after meeting the 75 book goal… and I’m still 15 books ahead of schedule is WILD! Mind you, my initial goal for the year was 50 books read. I met that a couple of months ago & raised the goal to 75.

If Tomi Adeyemi definitely taught me not to wait half a decade between installments in a series! I understand why some readers prefer to wait until the series is completed before they start on it bc I can’t remember half of what happened in the two books before Children of Anguish and Anarchy. 😫

In British English grammar, there is an “s” on the end of all these words. However, in American English grammar, we drop the “s.”
What does this mean? Unless you eat crumpets & have Tea Time, 🗣️ Drop The S!

I had to write a speculative fiction piece under 1k words for class this week. I swear I spent more time doing research than actually writing the piece. I’m seriously considering turning that short story into a full book, possibly a series, bc who’s about to waste all that research? Not me!

I hate word count restrictions. I’m such a long winded writer. This “write a piece 1,000 words or less” just don’t do it for me cuz you gone get this 1,250 every time! 😂

Read every day. This is not a request, but a requirement. As an author, even if it’s just a couple pages from a book you’ve read 100 times, a magazine article while waiting in a grocery store line, or a recipe in a FB group you forgot you joined, you must read. It is your most important craft tool.
