I’m looking to call someone for an interview that I’m doing about education within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools ending of mandatory busing. Specifically, someone who has worked in the CMS system or went to school during this era (1996-2000). If you know someone, please have them reach out to me

I completed my lesson plan for tomorrow, so I’m pretty excited!

One can cite injuries, personnel, playing tough opponents, etc. — but it gets to a point where it gets hard to escape this one major explanation:

This is bad and undisciplined, and overall off-putting Ravens team to watch. Go garden your plants or volunteer on Sundays instead.

I’m now at 12 books on the year! Working on finishing Wise Blood this week at some point.

I’m in the process of reading 25 books this year and currently reading “Wise Blood” by Flannery O’Connor. I’m currently at 11 books for the year. Are there any recommendations that you all would like to give that are short stories — specifically Gothic heading into Halloween?

Man that’s awesome. Really puts things into perspective on how interconnected we all are in this area.

You too! I’ve been over here for awhile I just need to get more active. This place feels more like the old community that we had on #thatsite.

For all of its faults, triumphs, difficulties, ease, etc. — I love this city with all of my soul.

Morgan State RB Jason Collins Jr. is in a long line of DMV athletes that have made their mark at the Division I level.

Now, the 2024 MEAC Rookie of the Year is looking to be the next one to make it to the NFL.

My latest for PressBox.

Reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year Jason Collins Jr. has big goals in mind ahead of the 2025 college football season. The best part would be reaching them close to home at Morgan State.

Some of you may know that I became a teacher last school year. My first year was amazing. My students learned a great deal. I also learned a ton myself. I want the second year to be even better & with your assistance, that can be possible!

Please feel free to share.

Thank you so much! That means a lot to me!

It’s so vile, callous, and cruel. The evils that continue to happen at the hands of governments and wretched individuals has tamped down on the freedoms that all deserve to relish in. There are so many organizations complicit in it all — using PR releases as gospel. Crooked at best. Sinful.

James Franklin’s father was in and out of his life early on. And when Franklin was in 11th grade, he ended a vicious cycle of abuse.
“I got in between it. And I didn’t really think, I just reacted.”

On his upbringing and becoming the father he never had:

Franklin opened up about a past that led him to develop into the man he is now, and into the father he never had.

I’m going to write about Baltimore appearing in DC Comics as the hometown of Guy Gardener (Green Lantern) and Black Manta. Has anyone wrote about that yet!? We literally had a comic character from our city appear on the big screen in a Superman film!

Major cities just cannot be that attractive as places to live in the DCU or MCU given that they constantly get targeted by supervillains.

Agreed. I don’t think it gets this way without the windfall of issues that came post-2019. We’ve become unrecognizable. It can change for the better though, I’m hopeful.

I do have a lot of faith in the kids. They’ve got so much to offer, they just need guidance. That’s on us and I think a lot of people are up for the challenge.

It’s so odd because the flip seemed to happen post-COVID. And I think many people have been lost in the fray of having too much alone time. Too much of not having to deal with what they deem to be “annoyances”. Phones supplanting real life (as I type this out on my phone).

We’ve allowed our wants to supersede those of everyone else around us. It’s been like that internally for a long time, but the social contract seems to have been blown to bits and thrown into the wind.

Good morning everyone!
