Thank you for sharing your story with us. Your dedication to COVID -19 outreach has been amazing, but not worth it being at the expense of your well being. Glad you have support.

I too need new bar grips due to a raccoon who overwintered in our shed and ate all the grips and seats of five bikes.

Views of the walk I took at lunch today. There were a couple people sunbathing at the beach. 14C is still too cold for me. @laurentianu.bsky.social

@abhuibie.bsky.social more ethics in research
This is one of the worst violations of research ethics I've ever seen. Manipulating people in online communities using deception, without consent, is not "low risk" and, as evidenced by the discourse in this Reddit post, resulted in harm.

Great thread from Sarah, and I have additional thoughts. 🧵
The mods of r/ChangeMyView shared the sub was the subject of a study to test the persuasiveness of LLMs & that they didn't consent. There’s a lot that went wrong, so here’s a 🧵 unpacking it, along with some ideas for how to do research with online communities ethically. tinyurl.com/59tpt988

You are more likely to call friends and family the former. The latter is reserved to the truly heinous people who would never be in your circle, or you would kick them out if they became one.

I love that everyone is talking about the eclipse, but it's hardly going to be noticeable to those not paying attention. I went to the sunrise one back in 2021, and it was amazing, as are all eclipses, but you need to get high, and it will not change the lighting that much because it's partial.
