Plenty of fine words about Gough and the Dismissal 50 years ago today. But without a new republican constitution that removes the reserve Crown powers - whether vested in a Governor-General or President - frankly, it’s all hot air

The boosters of AUKUS argue it will deliver jobs. But at nearly $2m a job, it’s one of the worst job creation programs ever.

Professor Al Rainnie from Adelaide University/UniSA writes for Labor Tribune, busting the myth that AUKUS is good for jobs.

Look who is really benefiting from the US-Australia rare-earths deal that locks our minerals into the US’s ongoing trade war with China.

We should nationalise the resources sector and have a sovereign wealth fund for social need, not Rinehart greed.

It isn’t enough just to counter demonstrate the far-right. The left needs its own strategy to become the radical mass alternative to the establishment.

Hamish McPherson takes a look at recent ‘March for Australia’ events and how the left has responded.

Invoking the 'Uniting for Peace Resolution' - a tool of imperialism - is either a fantasy or would trigger a world war. Either way it is a dead end for the Palestine solidarity movement.
