Let's talk about #neurodivergence, #queer ness, and #robots.

Often scifi tries to define "human" the way transphobes try to define "woman", and I find it pointless for the same reasons. The criteria for human often ends up unintentionally excluding #autistic folks like myself especially. (1/4)

Z implies that he is at a social disadvantage because he doesn't "pass" as human. ("Pass" is used deliberately as a nod to the trans experience.) Page from Technocrat chapter 3, where Yana relates to Z's experience by admitting that, even as a human, she has trouble "passing" as well - since she is autistic and struggles socially.

Proud of the the latest Technocrat page - posing was fun 😃

Context: our protagonists are getting shot at by a Very Angry Dude With A Plasma Cannon (out of frame). Yana slowly realizes why he's angry. 😆

Identity of said attacker is a Major Spoiler so I'll refer to him here as X. Yana, behind cover, is trying to figure out why X is coming after her with a plasma cannon. Dialogue: "This makes no sense! What did I - is he upset about the Knight position? Was he trying to apply?" In the second panel, Z ducks behind cover just as return fire from a plasma cannon sears overhead. Yana, distracted, continues to ruminate. Dialogue: "- No, that can't - he doesn't even like me! Keeps showing up just to Meg me about -" In the third panel, Yana makes a face as realization sets in - X has been hitting on her. She never quite realized it because she's autistic and bad at picking up signals. Z remains focused on the fight. Dialogue (Yana): "... Oh. Oh my gods." Dialogue (Z): "He has disruptor shielding. I'm going for the cannon."

Recently fixed up the gallery page (concept art, process etc) on the Technocrat website - technocratcomic.com/gallery/ Lots of older art there, but this one from 2013 surprisingly holds up! Gave it a quick update to add the coolant lines, since this is from before that was even part of Z's design.

Clearly Chandris ghostwrote that article in a jealous fit. "They're stealing our women!"

Relevant panel snip from ch10 - in which Chandris has accused Yana of suspicious activity (being in her lab at 2am with her android bodyguard). Yana makes him *regret* his demand for an explanation.
Yana, on being questioned about why she's in the lab at 2 am with her android bodyguard: "You might not *want* to ask what I do with my Knight in *private.*"

Love the comparisons! That lifted leg Bothers Me but I can see the reason for the choice. Love how simple the ground is, yet it's not just a line - it has enough to texture to indicate rock. Interesting that he smoothed out the standing plane. The texture is bookendy maybe?

Truly excellent advice for this introvert lol. I'm used to most of my more personal interaction being on Discord and think of social media as more of a public "face", but clearly that's not the best way to build an engaged fandom!
