Fighting for all things wild across the West with my friends at Center for Biological Diversity.
Steve Pearce, Trump's nominee to lead the BLM, might be the single biggest threat Western public lands have ever seen.

He's long been obsessed with selling off our natural heritage & urged local governments to take control of federally protected public lands.

We must stop him.

A rare bit of good news: a federal judge just ruled DHS can’t use the government shutdown as an excuse to stall our border wall lawsuit while construction barrels ahead through critical jaguar habitat in the San Rafael Valley.

Oil tycoon Steve Pearce is a disastrous pick to run the BLM. He's long pushed for the liquidation of public lands & championed efforts to obliterate national monuments. Just like Sen. Lee, he'll be chomping at the bit so sell our public lands off to corporations & billionaires. He's also a creep.
Steve Pearce used to be my Representative. He is the guy who wrote in his book that the wife should "voluntarily submit" to the husband. He thinks that women and the planet they live on are there for men to use as they please. www.koat.com/article/trum...

“We’re already seeing drought stress, with half the mature oaks in the valley dead,” Palma said. “The wall will only accelerate the collapse. You lose the trees, you lose the shade. The creek dries, the habitat dies. It’s a cascade of ecological devastation.”

The Trump administration is declaring a bogus emergency and tossing aside decades of hard-won environmental protections to fast-track wall construction.

It's yet another senseless attack on the wildlife and communities of California’s borderlands.

Breaking: First new sections of Trump border wall are going up in the San Rafael Valley. This is an ecological catastrophe for the Arizona-Sonora borderlands, especially for the endangered jaguars and ocelots that move across the border here.

Arizona's San Pedro River is being sucked dry. Yesterday, one of its main monitoring wells dried up, violating a court order guaranteeing water minimums.

Dire implications for myriad endangered species & millions of neo-tropical songbirds that depend on it.

We’re suing DHS over their waiver of environmental laws to bulldoze a border wall across Arizona’s remote San Rafael Valley.

Jaguars, ocelots and a host of other species will be stopped dead in their tracks if this wall goes up.

Construction crews arrived this week.

Survey stakes are in the ground at the San Rafael Valley, where DHS is preparing to wall off the last best corridor in Arizona for jaguars, ocelots & other species. Not a soul in sight.

The earth crushers have arrived at the San Rafael Valley. No words to describe the absurdity of building a wall across this peaceful, desolate wilderness.

Trump weighs in on Oak Flat, calling the Indigenous Tribes fighting it “Anti-American.”
Trump smearing us as ‘anti-American’. If Oak Flat is mined, the winners won't be Americans, and definitely not Native Americans, whose sacred site will be destroyed but two foreign mining giants, BHP (Australia) and Rio Tinto (UK) whose largest shareholder is a Chinese state-owned company.
