It's once again time to renew dog licenses. Dog licenses are required by law, and help keep your furry friend safe if they go missing.

Avoid a late fee by renewing your license before January 31.

Cove Community Center's Winter Warmup station is back for the winter of 2025-26. Volunteers have donated and crafted hats, gloves, and scarves for anyone who needs protection from the elements this season. The items are located in front of Cove Community Center near the RTA 55 bus stop.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Beginning Monday, Dec. 8, Belle Ave. will be closed just south of the Cleveland Clinic parking lot entrance for utility work related to the Downtown Development. Work is expected to last through December 19. Travelers are advised to use an alternate route during this time.

Residential rock salt distribution is back for Winter 2025-2026.

Boxes are located at Kauffman, Madison, Cove, and Lakewood Park as well as the Lakewood Dog Park. Residents may take home up to 5 gallons of salt for personal use.

Last night, the community came together at Cove for the first monthly meal. Thank you to the members of H2O, the city's Finance Department, Human Services staff, and all volunteers for your hard work, and everyone that came to enjoy a warm meal!

The next community meal is scheduled for January 7.

The first City of Lakewood community meal will be held at Cove Community Center tonight. Doors open at 5 PM, and the meal will be served at 5:30 PM. Everyone is welcome!

The Cove Giving Tree has returned! Stop by Cove Community Center and pick up a tag, then pick out a gift for a neighbor this season. Please drop off new, unwrapped gifts to Cove by December 16, 2025.

Just a friendly reminder: dogs on public grounds (sidewalks, streets, parks, etc.) in Lakewood must be on a non-retractable leash no longer than 6 feet. This rule helps to keep neighbors, kids, and other pets safe.
