One thing gnawing at me is how many members of Gen X and Boomers, across America and Britain, will defect to fascism before they accept a more assertive liberalism. The most liberal those Americans I know will accept is Fetterman and Maher. It’s very discouraging.

Unpopular Bluesky opinion time: As someone who lives in a deep red area, I hope conservative alternatives to reactionary politics and Christianity become mainstream soon. I know most of the people around me will never be liberals or progressives. It’s just so lonely being around reactionaries.

Yes, I grew up in a conservative Southern Baptist church, but a violent prayer from the pulpit would have triggered church discipline in all likelihood. That it was followed up by a prayer for eternal peace actually made me almost laugh from shock

I visited a PCA church at the request of my mom yesterday, who was also visiting it for the first time and wanted me to go for her first time. (So she could play matchmaker for me, but I digress.) The pastor there prayed that terrorists in Nigeria would be killed. This is unusual behavior, right?

People haven’t been in online spaces with men way too open about their kinks and their many partners encouraging them, and it shows. The idea of RFK being one of the men on Discord I had to shut up after he went too explicit in public is funny to me.

Something built around neurochips is my guess. Every communications technology increases the speed which information is relayed, and being able to receive information directly into your brain seems like the next step, if it’s physically possible
