Robbie Justason was working from home when a stranger started banging on the back door. He fled the home when the man pointed a gun at him. As shown in the security camera footage, the man poured gasoline, exchanged gunshots with police, and lit the house on fire.

Maple Hills mayor Erica Warren says DNR told her 40% of the Irishtown fire remains uncontained. That means it’s still considered out of control and residents are still being asked to be prepared to evacuate.

Irishtown residents are on “pins and needles” as the fire remains out of control. Erica Bulmer, who runs a local farm stand, says locals are having sleepless nights wondering if they’ll have to evacuate. I’m in the area and looking to hear from locals today.

WATCH: A family of six from the Irishtown area has two cars packed up with the essentials in case they need to evacuate. A nearby forest fire had grown to 54 hectares on Monday. The Minister of Natural Resources called the three out of control forest fires in NB an "unprecented" situation.

Barring certain exceptions, applications for a benefit that helps low income NBers pay their rent are closed as almost all of the money allocated for this fiscal year has been spoken for. This comes after the government announced they put 21 million into it on May 20th.

A NB cancer patient is running out of money to pay for travel and lodging for the chemo she receives every 3 weeks in Toronto. The province won’t pay for the costs because she’s part of a clinical trial. Kim Doucette says she’s seeing promising results and wants to continue the treatment.
