It feels like it's just meandering so far. It's lacking a clear direction. The premise itself is pretty decent actually, but I just do not feel connected to any part of the anime.

I have barely any memories of the Macross Delta anime, but the soundtrack still slaps so hard.

"The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity" dares to ask the question: what if every typical romance genre conflict were resolved in one episode?

And I respect that.

Everything about this movie is iconic

For years, I would see people gushing about this film, and I did believe them. And even then, it ended up exceeding my expectations. I can absolutely see this becoming something I rewatch frequently as well, and it seems very well suited to watch during the winter season.

Yeah, While I was pretty mixed on the show, after finishing the movie, I'd be lying if it didn't make me reflect on the whole show in a new light.

And what a stunning film this is. So many interesting ideas and segments, with beautiful color palettes that keeps changing throughout the film. Easily has some of my favorite visuals from any Kyoani project. It's a film that really left an impression on me, and something I'll definitely return to.

Normally, this would be a negative statement, but I genuinely felt the length positively. In that, you can tell that the film is a journey that takes you to unexpected places and allows itself to invest time to let you properly understand the perspective and mindset, that our characters are in.

And with that, I finished my journey by finishing The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, which was as amazing as people say it is. I'd say it's almost worth watching the anime, just to have this fantastic conclusion. With a 162 min runtime, this is a really long movie, and you can tell.

stick with the show. This is a film that I have been dying to watch since forever, and I'm happy that I'm finally prepared to do that.

Despite everything I said, I don't regret watching Haruhi, and it felt like experiencing an important chapter in anime history. The film is next!

say that the show and cast was growing on me the further in we got. I noticeably felt more connected to the cast in season 2.

Most importantly, by all accounts, I haven't even seen the best part of Haruhi Suzumiya yet: The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. This has been my main motivation to -

bad, to be this sour on such an influential anime, that means a lot to so many people. And it's not that I didn't like any part of it. The production quality has been great, there were some standout episodes, such as "Live Alive" and the audacity of the "Endless Eight" is commendable. I would also -

I was aware that Haruhi herself is a divisive character, and I can definitely see why. I was not a fan of her in most episodes, however she did end up growing on me as her character was developing. The other side characters were fine, although Mikuru's VA was genuinely unbearable to me. It feels -

so, it doesn't change that it made feel like this way anyway. Kyon, the snarky MC, has become a pretty common MC archetype. As much as I like Tomokazu Sugita, it became pretty painful to me, listening to Kyon endlessly monologuing about everything. Neither looking, nor sounding, like a teenager.

that aren't necessarily the fault of the show itself, but rather how much time has passed since its release and how much this anime has influenced future anime. This is a very influential anime that has established or popularized certain tropes, so it feels wrong to criticize it for that, but even -

It's truly something I associate my early internet experiences with. For whatever reason, I have never taken the plunge, until now. And I'm sad to say, that I was honestly not that into it. I wouldn't go as far as saying I disliked it, but I had many issues. A lot of my issues with it are issues -

Since I can't call myself a Kyoani fan without having watched Haruhi Suzumiya, I finally decided to change that. It's strange, I considered watching this first over a decade ago. Thinking about my first experiences with anime communities on the internet, you couldn't possibly have escaped Haruhi.
