If I had to guess, the film did not fully engage with the take-up spool so it was not advancing with each shot, I might have had that happen in the past myself ^^;

This brand of furry drone suit appears clear at first, but as the new drone is programmed the suit quickly turns opaque and their markings appear once they are ready for activation
