🔑 Key Recommendations
To combat challenges, the study stresses the need for URM-specific mentorship programs and more Latina representation in leadership roles. Institutions should prioritize mentorship to create a sense of community and belonging for Latinas.

🌍 Some Latinas found empowerment through mentorship, community connections, and working in programs focused on diversity. Latina physicians who connected with Latinx patients expressed a sense of pride, though they still struggled with discrimination.✨ #DiversityInMedicine

The Mental Health Impact on Latinas in Medicine 🧠
1️⃣ Latinas often felt reduced to being a "diversity hire" or quota filler, leading to feelings of inadequacy. They had to constantly adjust to fit in, while also navigating discrimination and family expectations. 🏠💔

3️⃣ Gender & Ethnic Bias: Latinas faced sexism & White male privilege, with male peers often seen as preferred. Balancing family & career added extra pressure. ⚖️ #GenderBias

🛑 Racism & Discrimination in Medical Training 🛑1️⃣Latinas were stereotyped & assumed less qualified due to accent, ethnicity, or gender. Many altered behavior to avoid being labeled unprofessional. 😔
2️⃣ Some felt their institution’s diversity efforts were lacking.

🔑 Barriers in Medical Training
1️⃣ Limited community & support led to loneliness & isolation. 💔
2️⃣ Lack of Latina mentors & diverse programs left many with little guidance. 🧑🧑‍⚕️
3️⃣Working to support families led to less study time, longer training, & increased anxiety.
