There’s some vaguely detailed crime scene gore, but towards the end it becomes really detailed (starting after a ghost eats someone).

I’d probably skip it then because of how detailed it gets.

Oh no, it was a good cry! I dunno why, but as I get older, some stuff just makes me cry randomly, lol. Like hopeful endings, movie trailers, characters dying, stuff like that.
It was a lil gory, but if you’re okay with gore, I’d recommend it!

It goes by “Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng” in the US, but my copy is the UK version which just goes by “Bat Eater”.

It’s what the main character and her sister were called by a random dude in chapter 1 before her sister gets killed.

This had to be one of my fav books this year.

I would recommend you like vengeful ghost stories.

Trigger warning tho: this is about girl who‘s sister is killed by a serial killer targeting Asian women during Covid, and there is a lot of gore, especially towards the end.

It’s Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker. I just finished it. It was still really good, but those last 55 pages made me cry a lil bit.

Hopefully the streak continues and your books keep being good! Especially with the holiday stress around the corner.

I only have 55 pages of my book left, but I’m exhausted AF (and it’s 11:30 lol), so I will be finishing it tomorrow after I finish up all the stuff to do at work.

I haven’t gotten too far in Z - A because I’m hunting for shiny Pokemon. Tomorrow I will continue the hunt.
