Ravioli is working on down at a (small) distance. He’s conflicted as he really wants to come towards me, but knows staying on the target matters! This is the 1st time I’m out of arms reach.

Ravi can pickup and bring the dumbbell to me, and can hold the db when I give it to him. But I hadn’t yet combined the 2 pieces to get the formal ending needed for the full retrieve.

The stand is tough as often what the dog is learning is different than what we’re trying to teach! So many dogs think “stand” = move to our hand.

Grace was moving on her stand so I went back a step! Starting with a target behind her to kick back to, makes it a smooth transition to having the rear foot target a couple feet behind.

Continuing to work on the core foundation moves for heeling. Pivots first, then backing up and sidesteps. Once I have these 3 down then I mix it up with slow forward heeling.
