Yes I experienced this as well. If your work 'illustrated' the idea/concept you were not exploring your work deeply enough. I definitely questioned this at the time.

I have a delfonics pouch! Love it as a small, compact option.

Kensington Market sketch meetup. It was so fun to reconnect with familiar faces and a few new ones! The Sunday vibes were feeling just right 😊

Messy sketches, figuring out potential new composition ideas. Kids are excited to go back to school, but there is so much newness - new friends, new lessons. Sometimes they seem quite lost. It's amazing to watch confidence grow and to be a support in that growth.

Another #kidlitartpostcard 🌻

This little scene was sitting in my sketchbook for ages. Painting animal characters is so fun! I am excited to get into some autumn themed illustrations throughout the month.

Seeing all the posts by people at the Urban Sketching Symposium gave me a little FOMO. A day in Rotterdam with my artsy friend Zeynep, with good talks, tasty food, and sketching together, cured me of it.
What can you do this week to spark creative connections close to home?
Sketchbook spread showing a drawing in ink and a few colored bits done with markers, of my friend at the table on a terrace, and people in the background. Written text: lunch & sketch with Zeynep Sketchbook spreads with four sketches of people on the train, done in ink and with pencil. Descriptive written text:
Staring out the window
Staring at the phone
Staring at someone else
Looking around her

This was such a fun exercise to loosen up with character/ shape creation. Minimal and confident marks - it's interesting how little detail you have to add to bring a shape to life. #kidlitart #studies
