Hello #crochetsky & #fibersky! My name is Cy, and I’m…

* An experienced crocheter
* A very beginner knitter
* An enthusiastic spinner

And I’m so glad to be here! Looking forward to meeting so many others and bring in community!
Gonna try and be more active now that life is settling down more. Also, would appreciate advice on craft block and generally getting into knitting
I feel horrible for not being active here but honestly, disability life caught up to me and I’m also really struggling with fiber artist block since I want to start learning how to knit but I just really don’t want to do a garter stitch scarf to start
I’m really glad I generally exist, but being hugged and told how much of an impact me giving away a bag of yarn (at least 30 skeins or so) meant to my bus driver really brightened my day. I do what kindness I can with what means I have and clearly, that’s working in my favor.
Just gave a whole bag of yarn away to my accessibility bus driver today and honestly, I feel great because she’s easily one of the best drivers for the city and it feels good to be so incredibly kind to her!

Spending my evening a bit sick from eating too many grapes and making a list of my long-term crochet and knit autumn and winter capsule wardrobe
While I had my struggles, I'm actually really proud of my first #WIP and I'm already planning to make two more, just to get my basics down. After all, I won't improve if I don't allow myself to have those initial struggles. I'm looking forward to how I'll grow!
I'm picking up a new #fiberart and #culturalcraft: Bobbin Lace! It's all thanks to receiving a scholarship to a four week introductory course from @craftysorceress.bsky.social. Here's today's three hours of work!
Spending my Monday evening eating a succulent Chinese meal and wearing in ends on my big laundry basket of donation scarves and honestly, this is kind of the life I’ve always wanted.
A little sneak peak at my #finishedprojects and recent #crochetwips, all of which are going to be donated. Some of the scarfs are projects I picked up and finished from last year but a lot of these scarves have been made over the course of January and February. Now they just need a wash & block!
Think my before bed activity tonight will be planning out my crochet capsule wardrobe, as well as a future knit wardrobe. I think it would be really nice to have a set amount of handmade items that I can grow with and learn to darn, too’
Would highly suggest going and getting a few more: this store was one of the third that were originally going to stay open (and performed really well) but it’s barren in a lot of second
Popped into Joann for my final time and this aisle really captured the end of an era that just didn’t have to come.
Guess this is kind of a reminder that I’m doing okay overall, especially when it comes to creativity. Hopefully I’ll maintain this energy when I start my sweater and garment making this month, too
I do think I’m gonna add my scrap ball scarves to the bucket and work into I effectively make it overflow (i.e. until they tumble one too many times) because I want to make the most of what will probably be an entire day of blocking
I’ve got a lovely bucket of completed #crochetwips that need blocking. They’re all things I’ve finished this year which feels really good because I’ve been feeling like I’m creating less when I actually just think I’m hitting a place of awareness as I grow my skills
Spent last night finishing up a bunch of scrap #yarn balls that are going to be transformed into scrap scarves for my big #crochet donation bag. And look! I've already started on the first of four!
Made a #crochet scarf in about 45 minutes last night using my favorite wool blend yarn, Hue + Me. Pretty impressed with how quickly this worked up!
Decided to get my daily dose of sunshine by sitting and watching the waves near my local bookstore and #crocheting. I don’t know what scarf number this is but it’s gotta be a two digit number since I’ve been making them since January.
Totally forgot to share this #crochetwip here on #yarnsky though that’s probably because I’m likely going to frog this since it was just practice for both the Tunisian purl stitch and the honeycomb stitch though I do kind of love hope the stitch looks on this worsted weight scarf…
Recently got in an order of yarn I’ve been waiting for from Lion Brand as I continue to plan an entire wardrobe of handmade sweaters.
I'm going to step away from my hooks tonight because this really disappointed me. Thankfully, I can make other garments but like... Sometimes, the pattern making community really reminds you that straight sizes matter most, even if that's not the intent.
This is a big reason why pattern tests shouldn't just be scaled up: I want proof that you've have bigger bodies test and make these patterns to actually fit them. Just doing math isn't enough: you can't just make things exponentially larger and expect that to work.
Just got a yarn order in that I've been waiting for since 1/28 only to find that the pattern I'm using maybe didn't have plus size pattern testers and won't work at all for me. Thankfully, I've got other patterns i
Y’all. Y’all. Y’all.

I finally learned how to purl and now I can make a ribbed scarf with hand that if I practice enough, I can actually start on making my first ever knitted sweater this Spring, which means I can make MULTIPLE sweaters!
Thank you! It's my first time with this stitch but I really love it
