Unfortunately many under the 100-500 extra lives are treated like cattle or cannon fodder for others.

The power ups and extra lives in the games are the people. (Along with their normal super abilities). How many lives you have equals to the statues in the galaxy. Infinite extra lives are basically gods and anyone with 10 or less are scum.
