Zealot minis #Morderin Boarding Hussar. Buggered the checks up a bit though. #Twitch #MiniaturePainting #Blanchitsu #Grimdark
@reaperminiatures.bsky.social Terezinzya, Goth Sorceress (03337) done with @thearmypainter.bsky.social on #Twitch. Still learning how to work the camera, but the legion of goth girls expands apace.
I think the next year of streams will be mostly Zealot miniatures #Morderin goth girls, as I channel my inner John Blanche. (Two of the set pictured mid-assembly.) #MiniaturePainting #Twitch #Grimdark
Third #Twitch output. Based on a Brom arteork. Only took half the stream, ruins my theory that I stream for 4 hours and it takes me 4.5 to finish the average mini. No excuse. Boo. #MiniaturePainting
Second product of 'Why do I never finish these girls' #Twitch stream. #MiniaturePainting
First #Twitch product of the evening, in an attempt to clear up the Nearly Done pile #MiniaturePainting
Steampunk Pixie Mechanic. No idea of manufacturer. Ridiculously fine detail to try on a Post-Festival comedown, but no regrets. Colours styled on the avatar of the best pixie streamer I ever met #MiniaturePainting #Twitch
WIP on a Fire Giant commission for a DND campaign. Fire to follow. #MiniaturePainting #Twitch.
I realise I've been mistagging these. @mrshfminis.bsky.social would be the more accurate. I do apologise to the mystery user.
Another @hasslefriesian.bsky.social barbarian lady, half-inspired by a Clint Langley art, half by a barbarian girl of my acquaintance. #Twitch #MiniaturePainting
What I think is a Metal Magic Goblin King, via (possibly) Midgard miniatures. One of 30 for a dungeon crawl or Saga Age of Magic Warband. V.Old but characterful (which doesn't mean badly cast and flashy in this context.) #Twitch #MiniaturePainting
A @hasslefriesian.bsky.social barbarian from Tuesday's #Twitch stream who had languished half-painted for some time until inspiration caught. #MiniaturePainting
I can probably remember the recipe with a bit of thought. And I only sang 'Banana Horse' the one time...on both streams.
That'll do (Dead) Donkey, that'll do. #SoulblightGraveLords Blood Knight gets his cross-hatching. Should sit well once there are five. #AoS #MiniaturePainting #Twitch
My pleasure. Be cool to see how it turns out/whether my instructions make sense.
Eventually I'll add a lot of really fine crosshatching to give the whole thing a 'drawn' but also 'fabric' sort of texture, as pictured. Its experimental (read as 'winging it to see what happens).
Then as I add sepias and browns elsewhere I add more shade to the top edge and into the grooves. The trick is to be quite patchy so the pale undercoat shows through like threadbare cloth. Then tiny highlights of any light colour like bone dotted around. There might be more sepia and shading to add.
Wight-bone undercoat
Thinned Fyreslayer Flesh
AP Sacred Scarlet (patchy, biased toward the top of the area)
AP Pure Red (as above, but also drawn down into the folds)
AP Pure Red (fine dashes & crosshatching)
Sepia wash
AP Raging Rouge (edge highlight)
You are welcome to watch it yourself but be warned, there may be me singing 'Banana Horse'.....
I shall have to doublecheck when I get home, and probably rewatch the VOD as well. AP Sacred Scarlet over I think thinned Guilliman Flesh over Wight Bone s definitely there
Here's where it's supposed to be going. Copious sepia tone should bring back the orange a bit. He was neon yellow at one point.
More #SoulblightGravelords work from #Twitch working on the Blanche-style 'art' skelutans. #AoS using thinned Contrast and lots of twiddly @thearmypainter.bsky.social highlighting. Repeating all the cross-hatching from infantry to cavalry will be my end, no doubt.
Well Horn rather than bone. Similar principle, just adjusting old recipes to new paints.
