Tried to be kind by trekking across our school field to give the tree surgeons a cuppa. Didn't realise I was so muddy until I looked back at the carpet of my office. Oops #lifeofaheadteacher

Another open day with our daughter. This time Edge Hill. I had an interview here 30 years ago and it's changed a lot! Beautiful campus.

Feel bad that I haven't donated blood before especially as I'm O negative. But I have and already booked my second appointment for February.

No idea why Derbyshire school holidays haven't aligned with the rest of the country, but we finally have our first day back with the children today. So the first proper day in my new role as headteacher. Exciting times.

Very proud of our new library! Can't wait until the children finally get to see it on Monday.

Saw bags of play sand reduced in Sainsburys to 50p but unfortunately I had walked to the shops and there was no way I was carrying one home. Sent a photo to our FS teacher and literally 5 mins later she sent me the second photo after buying 6 bags 🤣

Just made all these lovely new (and some not so new) connections with folk but now switching off for a week while in sunny France.

I am hoping the move to #edusky will be better for my feed and encourage me to post more. I start a new role in my school in September as acting headteacher so need the support!
