My language class was full of Iranians, Iraqi’s, Turks, Afghans. People who had no language skills. And that’s who the classes are aimed at. Most educated people learn English. This is all about integrating - for birth Denmark and the UK. And integrating economic migrants and refugees is crucial.

I have a fair few Chinese friends who live and work here actually. All getting free language lessons. Working very well for them.

Why would I want to? I learnt because I live here not because I want to speak Danish in China. If I was in China I’d learn Chinese.

I’m struggling to see your point. Sorry. Denmark helps people learn the language - does the UK do the same. That was my question. 🤷‍♂️

Why would you want to learn it outside of Denmark? The free courses are for when you arrive. 🤷‍♂️

With a population only just larger than that of Yorkshire - Danish isn’t really a key language for anyone not living here.
