Thank you for your email and for sharing your concerns regarding the reported remarks made by Mr Elon Musk at the “Unite The Kingdom” rally on 13th September.

I fully understand the alarm such statements may cause, particularly when they appear to incite division or suggest violence. The safety and cohesion of our society are paramount, and I remain committed to ensuring that individuals who seek to undermine our democratic values or threaten public order are held to account. However, in this case, I must respectfully disagree and do not think that Mr Musk’s remarks fall into this category or fall on the same level as previous figures who have been banned for expressing support for terrorist organisations, for example.

The power to exclude individuals from entering the United Kingdom is a serious one, exercised with careful consideration and in accordance with legal standards. Each case is assessed individually, based on the evidence available and the potential impact on public safety and national interest.
