Not only does it result in faster load times (went from 30 seconds to load one model in Eevee down to around 5 seconds or less), but it also halves the overall file size. Sure, the textures are lower quality, but unless you render at 4k+ you'll hardly see a difference.

I have a program called Directory Opus that lets me mass-convert image files, and it lets me resize the images as well. Simply took all the 4k texture files and shrunk them down to 2k. There's probably other ways to do the same thing, but that's how I did it.

I can only be thankful that they aren't outright banning NSFW entirely, hence why I don't intend to abandon my page over this, but it does make it more difficult to share some of my more out-there art. At least I still have Pixiv and Newgrounds to fall back on (although Pixiv has its own issues)

The rules for this are so vague that anything that can be in some way construed as non-con could get dinged, which isn't great considering how sensitive/inconsistent Bluesky's moderation already is. It ends up putting a lot of artists at risk even if their content is innocent.

They are updating their policies on NSFW content - they aren't outright banning NSFW entirely, but they are going to start going after what they consider to be "non-con" material even if it's fictional.

I just did some testing, and I found that the biggest contributor to the performance for me is the textures - a majority of them are 4k. I compressed them to half their size, and that improved performance DRASTICALLY. I'd recommend doing that if you have a means to do so.
