I'm a tour guide in New Orleans. Which means I'm a service industry professional in the tourism industry in a sinking city that gets hotter and hotter every year.

We get our licenses renewed every two years and every time I get a new one, i look at it and wonder if it will be the last one I get.

My slippers saved my soul/sole.

I stepped on a nail in my back courtyard and it turns out the slippers are almost the exact thickness as that nail. It bruised the bottom of my foot, but did not break skin.
