1/ I am an engineer trying to better understand economics. Financial jargon breaks my brain. Nothing behaves like a real system. It’s all backward loops, paradoxes, and confidence games. Here’s a thread on the insane logic of finance that makes zero sense to me 🧵👇

I came across this article in a book that argued that blockchain voting doesn’t work. Once I read it, I’d call that misleading.

A lot of good was actually done:
1) The system was hacked by a white hat hacker & he was given prize $
2) the code was public
3) the protocol used EVM technology.
Moscow's blockchain voting system cracked a month before election
French researcher nets $15,000 prize for finding bugs in Moscow's Ethereum-based voting system.

I am genuinely terrified that the general population will sleepwalk into a CBDC/stablecoins system, told that it’s basically the same as modern day systems. Then this eerie feeling will het worse.

Since the dust has settled on the ✨general chaos✨: Bitcoin has confirmed the death cross on the monthly MACD, reset RSI nicely and seems to have made a higher low. Putting aside any radical violent reversals, we might just grind up the purple trend line until the MACD flips back to green.

If anyone wondered why Australia doesn’t have shutdowns, it is because we have a parliamentary system and not a Presidential system. Sorry America, your democracy objectively sucks.

Good metaphor, for a new system the UX is still improving.
But these kinds of little footguns are *everywhere* in crypto. And it takes a decent amount of time to really learn how to avoid them. Even if you don't do the degen stuff, its still the linux desktop of money, with all the quirks entailed. And that won't ever be for everyone.

Bitcoin appears to be approaching a “death cross” on the monthly MACD trend. This usually heralds months of bearish behaviour.

Sentiment is wild ya’all. Retail is down bad but US legislation could unlock a wall of liquidity next year.

We could go either way. Buckle up.

I had a chat with a crypto-curious normie today. He was eyeing a first time BTC buy.

Sentiment seems to be pointing towards the end of the bull market. I’ve lived through one bear market, may as well earn some more stripes.

However, I think the ground has been laid to change our financial system forever, you can’t kill crypto.

The markets are holding their breath. Lots of neutral whale movements, some bullish for BTC, but nothing too earth-shattering.
