This is the only one of you in sunglasses I have.
A person looking cool in sunglasses in a park.

Alas, none with *both* sunglasses and nonchalant command.

I mean, not by myself! But it's a fine hobby I'd recommend to anyone who wants to trap intelligent people in a nightmare realm.

Will be there (but mostly demoing on Czech Games' stand).

So the usual plea - It's the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August and I will be reviewing shows for @starburst.bsky.social .

If you have a show that will fit Starburst's audience (and you should look up what Starburst is first), then get in touch and I will either try to run a review or feature.

1. "I left as fast as I could. I didn’t wait for pain control. Is this the future for trans people in hospitals now?"

My incredible friend Jamie Hale - writer, director, head of @cripticarts.bsky.social - was in hospital today, and this was their experience. They've given me permission to share.

Yes - not helped by the gap between what those artists, organisations, and artist-led organisations are trained in, and the requirements of getting funding (both for the skillset of writing good applications, and having the skillsets to deliver the non-artistic objectives well).
leodoulton.bsky.social
I don't know how many of those orgs applied for funding, but I suspect that for many of them, they are either being set up/programming work that meets Let's Create guidelines, or realising that they don't meet the brief (and thus not applying, or applying unsuccessfully).
leodoulton.bsky.social
Taking a somewhat arbitrary sample of small opera orgs (those who have appeared at Tête à Tête), the number receiving ACE grants per year hasn't shifted much, though remains low.

But there has been a shift after Let's Create re. the type of work being funded.

Who's Funded What? | Tête à Tête
A big question for opera makers is always ‘how can I fund my show?’   We’ve already made a list of who funds opera in general, so today, we’re taking a look at who’s funded Tête à Tête shows in the pa...

I have a man trapped inside the games industry. If he can stay in there for six months hours without screaming, he gets $1, no credit and will be released by email. Can't wait to upload this 🥰

Worse still, it comes at a time when the world is shifting. Many people are being told that they don't even-

Hopefully another time it'll be in a better location for you! (In case helpful, there are weekend matinees largely so out-of-towners have a better chance of making it; I always have the same experience of timings not working out for evening shows in London).
