And by the country, you mean at least 60 million people who approve of such people in charge of our lives? Therein lies the problem, in my humble opinion. It's not the dodos in office - it's the ones who keep putting them there.

He plays to his audience, who are susceptible to conspiracy theories, with nervous systems primed for triggering rage and hate towards "enemies," even if that means hating your neighbor across the street who votes blue.

Yes. It's his strategy to use democrats as his foil - he and his supporters are patriots, democrats are terrorists and enemies of the state. The division creates space for him to roll back freedoms and make a buck for his family.

Unfortunately, although I do believe he has serious cognitive decline, I think this FBI statement is purposely made to trigger his supporters into more rage against the "enemy."

Not for nothing, but he's got a cardiac age 14 years younger than his chronological age? I compete in Ironman competitions, can swim, bike and run for 17 hours straight, and my Garmin says my fitness age is 5 years younger than my chronological age. Go figure. More importantly, the constant blaming of "political correctness" when what he's really attacking is respect for differences. Pitting groups against each other is a common tactic used by authoritarian movements and regimes to gain and maintain political power, commonly known as "Divide and Conquer."

When will the Times and other media outlets start a daily section with the headline "Democracy Under Attack," since many actions and articles written about them fall under that title. Alt: Constitution Under Siege" or "Rule of Law Evaporates." Thoughts?
