There was a time when capitalism, though imperfect, worked for most. In the 60s, my parents bought a new car every year. In the 70s and early 80s, rent was usually a quarter of one's income. Food, rent, clothing were affordable for most people. Homelessness was unheard of until the mid-eighties.

There was. In Toronto, I had a 2-bedroom apartment for $250/month, which was a quarter of my monthly income at that time. Hardwood floors, back garden, balcony, enormous kitchen. The rent was never raised the whole time I lived there. 1979. (In 1978, my Cuban vacay cost $525.)

The BC Govt just notified me it's time for my next FREE COVID and annual flu shot.

Alberta and Quebec are forcing residents to pay. In Alberta, the cost is $100. In Quebec, pharmacies can charge between $150 and $180. I am unclear on why Quebec is allowing this absurd price discrepancy.

E-mail from the BC government alerting me it's time to schedule my next COVID and flu shots. In BC, shots can be obtained at most pharmacies and medical clinics.
