Trump lied. His ICE is not going after the "worst of the worst" like he promised.

The vast majority of the people being taken are hardworking, law-abiding members of our communities. They are just trying to provide for their families and contribute to America.

In the Trump budget, ICE was allocated $75 BILLION above its previous funding for use over the next four years. It has to find a way to spend all that money somehow.
NEW: ICE has torn up its $180M cap on a proposed immigrant-tracking program and is now guaranteeing private surveillance firms at least $7.5M each, with potential payouts reaching $281M per vendor. The change signals a shift from “pilot” to full-scale outsourcing of street-level investigative work.

I'm just an organizer who lives in Charlotte and is a 1st gen American of Jamaican heritage. I do not have the words for what the last few weeks have been like.

I am trying my best to breathe, deliver for my clients & show up for the communities I belong to that need support right now.
I'm failing.

Epistemic injustice as policy:

And it terrifies me. Of everything happening right now, him speedrunning the economic crisis in this country (something the average American doesn’t even understand because we don’t teach people about money or MATH) is the scariest thing happening right now.
The thing is WE ARE weak and unstable. It's not just making us "look" that way - it's pulling back the curtain to what a shit show the USA and it's economic policies have wrought.

I'd love for people not in Maine to stop speaking over Mainers. Y'all are talking about a place you know nothing about, people you have no connection to, and a political landscape you have no map of. You look ridiculous.

You‘ve gotten entangled in khive’s fury at Mrs O being respected/preferred & getting top billing over their fave who they amplify/force-feed the masses. They couch their fury in generalities about “Black women as labor” but this is really about their resentment of Mrs O being touted over their fave😜
