if you need a bypass, you go to the cardiovascular clinic, you don't go to the medically necessary and life-saving clinic. It has to have a name of some sort for the type of care that it is. Perhaps a better name might be appropriate, but it can't just be called medically necessary and life-saving?

oh I don't know why blue sky put this on my Discover list :) I'm just trying to be the person that was called a dip shit earlier up thread, offering a different perspective. ;) Oncology is life-saving and medically necessary, but it's still called oncology.

point being is different circles have different things they want it called. I'm uprooting my family to move to another country so we know he'll be treated better, I agree it's important. But keep in mind what you want to call something might not be the same as others going through the same thing

he wants to be treated like a normal guy getting non-other care. I refer to it the way that makes him most comfortable, which is about the only time it's my business what medical treatment someone is getting thus is the only time I call it anything at all.

my son doesn't like the term "trans" and has told me a lot of people in his circles see it as offensive because it makes him an other. He wants people to just call him a male, dude, etc - not a trans-dude. He likes the term "gender affirming care" for the same reason -
