Then in 2019, he had s college class looking at science communication. He was disappointed that the example they gave was to make a scientific research topic “able to be understood by your mom”. 🙄

My son had this task in elementary school in 2010 (or so). He was the only boy to draw a woman. His teacher scoffed that it was different since his mom was a scientist. That made me mad… that’s exactly how representation works!

Still a bit peeved about it, actually.

Terrifying stupidity.

But also a bit disturbed at the tone implicit in the comments that the number of men to be murdered is also the number of people who would be fighting back. Ummm… all the women would be combatants too.

And I was so stunned, I couldn’t type straight! Oh well…

Wow… NYT at ling last found the phase “Fact Checking Trump…” to put in a headline. Wouldn’t it be great to also just call them lies?

And wouldn’t of been great to have done this long time ago?

I have lived in many different places. In some mass, transit made sense because by the time you accounted for finding and paying for parking, the cost difference was negligible. Some places, transit made it to a family could rely on just one car. Some places don’t have useful ransit at all.

Many years ago, my dad would smoke the turkey, which meant he was up starting at the wee hours.

My mother would make some sort of fancy sweetrolls that were the only meal before a feast at 3 or so.

Willie Nelson may soon come out with a new so g suggesting Texas mamas actually should “let their babies grow up to be cowboys instead of doctors and lawyers and such”.

“Under the new policy that regents approved unanimously, courses may not “advocate race or gender ideology, or topics related to sexual orientation or gender identity” without a campus president’s approval of the course and related materials.”

I didn’t find that to be Politico’s take. The very first sentence of the posted article includes threat of death and does not state “sedition.”

A couple things:
Ri.gov reports 1034 sq mi, which is 2/3 the size you state.

The thing is, from some perspectives, that’s not all that different from 68. Alaska is 663,268 sq mi.

Heck, Alaska has cities with more area than RI.

From out west, that argument seems to make Rhode Island a good candidate for review.

Indeed! We had a cat that we once learned spent the summer working the neighborhood and in about five different houses where she had free rein, food bowls, and were convinced that she was a stray.

Presumably, this was why she had a habit of ditching any collar we put on her as soon as she could

I’m afraid I keep remembering the scene from the handmaid‘s tale television show where assassins take out Congress, triggering martial law.

The macromolecule murder mystery lab is an absolute pain in the hind end to set up from scratch! But I think I have got it ready to go for tomorrow.

To be clear, I have run this lab in several forms in the past, so I know what I’m doing. But I couldn’t mooch off someone else’s supplies this time.
